Evertas, a cryptoasset insurance company based in Chicago, Illinois, has appointed its first Head of Intelligence and Investigations to lead a team focused on cryptoasset-related risk.
Robert Chamberlain, who is taking on the new role, will be directing interdisciplinary intelligence employees offering intelligence and investigations solutions to clients in public and private sectors, who all have significant exposure to crypto-asset risks.
The team focuses on risks related to corruption, sanctions and conflict, as well as regulatory, policy and business hazards, and Chamberlain will be leading the team from the Chicago office.
Chamberlain has previously been instrumental in establishing the first market intelligence capability for PwC and been a member of the corporate intelligence practice at IBM.
Furthermore, he has directed corporate intelligence, strategic threat and crisis management issues for events, transactions and operations, and he has worked with high net worth individuals and private entities requiring risk mitigation strategies when operating high-risk markets.
Commenting on the new hire, J Gdanski, CEO and Founder of Evertas, said: “He is a strategy and innovation professional who is passionate about the creative application of technologies to clients’ most pressing intelligence problems.
“He has significant leadership and engagement experience in emerging and post-conflict markets and has worked across industry sectors in both the public and private sectors by helping clients address the myriad of risks associated with entering and operating in new frontier markets.”
Evertas focuses exclusively on cryptoassets, and the company noted that the new hire’s skills are a good match with the emerging risk and insurance markets.
Chamberlain added: “I’m really excited to be joining such a talented and innovative team at Evertas, and at such a crucial point in the evolution of digital asset technologies and developing regulatory frameworks.”
